Awni Behnam, Honorary President IOI (via Video connection), Antonella Vassallo, Managing Director; Simone Borg, Representative of the Government of Malta to the IOI Governing Board; and Alan Deidun, Director IOI Malta Training Centre, welcomed Kamol Rodklai, Chief of the Member of the Secretariat to the Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand, together with his delegation at the IOI Headquarters.
Areas of mutual interest to the Thai Delegation and the IOI in educational cooperation under the thematics of Ocean governance, and related matters were discussed during this visit, including the announcement of IOI Thailand's 5th Training Programme on Regional Ocean Governance Framework, Implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and its Related Instruments in the Southeast Asian and the Indian Ocean, to be offered this coming July in Phuket, Thailand.
Dr Behnam also recalled the visit by Her Royal Highness, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand to IOI Headquarters in August 2014 (The report on her visit can be found in the IOInforma 0714, link below).
