
IOI welcomes Mr Conor Savage as the new IOI Focal Point, operating from Scotland, United Kingdom. He is an alumnus of the 2024 IOI Training Programme on Regional Ocean Governance for the Mediterranean, Black, Baltic and Caspian Seas, Malta. Conor currently works as a sustainable finance expert. As a polar/marine early-career scientist from Edinburgh, UK, he has an academic background in Marine Biology, specialising in the impact of climate change on the Arctic and how it adversely affects the sea ice-reliant/associated species that inhabit it. He leads the UK & European Nodes and the Training & Mentoring Task Team of the UN Ocean Decade’s Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) Programme and is Vice-President and Executive Committee Member of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS).
