Eligibility of the Applicants
The programme welcomes participation from individuals interested in learning about the Ocean, including members of Women's Groups and Community Organisations, Indigenous Communities, Beach Management Units (BMU) leaders and representatives, Youth representatives, Government Officials, Extension Workers, Academia and Research Institutions, Environmental NGOs, Civil Society Organisations, Educators, and Trainers. Participants selected for the course are expected to fully commit to attending and actively participate throughout the entire duration of the course. Additionally, access to a computer, laptop, or phone with internet connectivity is required to complete all course activities effectively.
Participants will be awarded a certificate of participation upon successful completion of the course.

Mpango huu unakaribisha ushiriki kutoka kwa watu binafsi wanaopenda kujifunza kuhusu bahari, wakiwemo wanachama wa Vikundi vya Wanawake na Mashirika ya Kijamii, Jumuiya za Wenyeji, Viongozi na wawakilishi wa Vitengo vya Usimamizi wa Ufuo (BMU), wawakilishi wa Vijana, Maafisa wa Serikali, Wafanyakazi wa Ugani, Taaluma na Taasisi za Utafiti, Mazingira. NGOs, Mashirika ya Kiraia, Waelimishaji, na Wakufunzi. Washiriki wanatarajiwa kujitolea kikamilifu kuhudhuria na kushiriki kikamilifu katika muda wote wa kozi. This course focuses on the Sustainable Use of Marine Resources for Food Security in Kenya. Its core objective is to provide participants with an understanding of the importance of sustainable practices in enhancing food security through effective management of marine ecosystems. The program covers key thematic areas, including the goods and services provided by the ocean, threats to marine resources and ecosystems, sustainable practices in fisheries and aquaculture, ocean governance, and building resilient coastal communities. Participants will also explore the socio-economic implications of marine resource use and the policies and frameworks supporting sustainability. By the end of the course, participants will be well-prepared to contribute to the conservation and sustainable management of marine resources, ensuring long-term food security in Kenya.
Kozi hii inalenga Matumizi Endelevu ya Rasilimali za Bahari kwa Usalama wa Chakula Nchini Kenya. Lengo lake kuu ni kuwapa washiriki uelewa wa umuhimu wa mbinu endelevu katika kuboresha usalama wa chakula kupitia usimamizi bora wa mifumo ya ikolojia ya baharini. Programu inajumuisha maeneo muhimu ya mada, kama vile bidhaa na huduma zinazotolewa na bahari, changamoto zinazokumba rasilimali za bahari na mifumo ya ikolojia, mbinu endelevu katika uvuvi na ufugaji wa samaki, utawala wa bahari, na kujenga jamii za pwani zenye ustahimilivu. Washiriki pia watachunguza athari za kijamii na kiuchumi za matumizi ya rasilimali za bahari pamoja na sera na mifumo inayounga mkono uendelevu.
